Lakeridge Pool Opening Soon!

We are excited to announce that, barring a change in the governor’s Back on Track Indiana plan or some unforeseen predicament, we plan to open the Lakeridge pool this 4th of July Weekend! Pool hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Mill Run pool will be under construction this summer and, unfortunately, will not be open for the pool season. Because we will only have one pool available this summer, we regret that all guest privileges will be revoked so that Willow Creek Crossing Apartment residents are able to use and enjoy this amenity.

S.W.O.R.N. Protection Services will be monitoring the pool on weekends and holidays and for a few hours each weekday evening. Please cooperate with security officers and present your Willow Creek Crossing ID when asked. (Identification cards may be issued to residents who are at least 14 years of age).

In order to enhance safety and discourage trespassers, a combination lock is installed at the gate. You will need to stop by the office to receive the code and sign a pool addendum; do not forget to call ahead to schedule your appointment to sign the addendum. PLEASE, do not give out the combination to other residents and do not let anyone in the pool who does not have a Willow Creek ID. If we find the code has been compromised, the combination will be changed, and you will need to return to the office to get the new code.

Very Important Pool Rules to Remember:

  • You must have your Willow Creek Crossing I.D. card with you, in addition to the gate code, to gain entry into the pool.
  • All persons under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 18 years of age. In other words, kids who are age 14 to 17 may swim without an adult, but they may not be responsible for younger kids. If you have an adult summertime babysitter, please make arrangements for your babysitter to get an ID.
  • All swimmers must wear bathing suits. Street clothes are not permitted, per Board of Health rules. This includes t-shirts and shorts over top of bathing suits.

Thank you all for your patience during this time. We’re excited to be able to open the pool for you in time for the holiday weekend!

Important COVID-19 Policies & Procedures Update

COVID-19 update May 2020

COVID-19 update May 2020

On Friday, May 1, 2020, Indiana Governor Holcomb announced a 5-stage plan with the aim of slowly decreasing restrictions and beginning to open businesses that have been closed since the shelter in place order was issued on March 23, 2020. The goal of the plan is to not jump right back in and open everything how it was but to slowly get back to how things were before. For full details of the governor’s plan, you can visit www.backontrack.in.gov.

At this time, Willow Creek Crossing office and maintenance will begin to decrease some of the restrictions that were implemented when the shelter in place order was issued. Please read below for how we plan to begin to re-open while still making every effort to minimize everyone’s exposure to potential germs:

  • Beginning May 4, 2020, maintenance will resume completing all types of work orders that are called into the office, whether it is an emergency or not. As a precaution, they will still be wearing their respirators and gloves while in your apartment. We will also still be asking if you have been sick or had a fever in the last two weeks, been exposed to anyone who has been sick or had a fever in the last two weeks, or if you have traveled anywhere in the last two weeks as a precaution.
  • Beginning May 4, 2020, the office will begin seeing residents by appointment only so that we are able to sanitize in between appointments for your safety and ours. The outside door to the building will be locked; please ring the doorbell to the left of the door when you arrive. We will have hand sanitizer available for you to use and we will seat you at one of the tables in the clubhouse; we ask that you do not come into the leasing office as we are keeping that for employees only for the time being. You must either call or e-mail prior to coming to the office and schedule your appointment.

Office and maintenance hours will be as follows:

Office hours: May 4th to May 17th Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Beginning May 18th Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Maintenance hours: May 4th to May 17th Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Beginning May 18th Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • There will be no semi-annual apartment inspections for May.
  • The fitness center will continue to be closed for May.
  • The swimming pools will be closed for the month of May. We hope to open in June depending on what the Board of Health recommends. The Mill Run pool will be closed for the season as it is going to be replaced this summer; however, we still hope to open the Lakeridge pool.

If you have been unable to work because of the COVID-19 virus, please contact the office so that we can make a payment arrangement with you. You will need to provide us with either a letter from your employer that you have been laid off or proof that you have filed for unemployment. We understand that this has been a difficult situation that has affected many of our residents and we want to do what we can to help.

We appreciate the patience and understanding that our residents have shown during this uncertain time and we can not thank you enough. We also appreciate how so many have come together and reached out to their fellow neighbors to check in with each other to make sure everyone is staying healthy and safe! If you have any questions, please call us at 260-747-7000 or e-mail us at apartments@willowcreekcrossing.net. We will keep you posted if there are any changes that need to be made to the new operating procedures listed above.

Important Update Regarding COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

covid-19-update

On Monday, March 23, 2020, the Governor of Indiana issued a directive for Hoosiers to stay at home effective at 11:59 p.m. on March 24, 2020, until 11:59 p.m. on April 6, 2020 and will remain in effect during that time period unless otherwise rescinded, modified, or extended. Only travel or work that is considered “Essential” is permitted. You will still be allowed to leave your home for groceries, prescriptions, obtain health care, take care of others or go to an essential job; for a full listing, visit www.in.gov.

At this time Willow Creek Crossing will only be entering apartments if there is a maintenance emergency. We will continue to keep office and maintenance staff on the property from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday during the shelter in place order and will continue to have after-hour emergency maintenance.

Maintenance emergencies are considered as follows:

  • A major appliance not working such as a stove, fridge, garbage disposal, washer, or dryer
  • No power to all or part of an apartment, or other electrical issue
  • A plumbing leak such as a sink, toilet, or tub; a slow or non-draining tub/sink or a drain that has water backing up into it
  • No hot water
  • No heat
  • Locked out of your apartment
  • Fire (first call 911 and make sure everyone is out of the apartment)

While maintenance is in your apartment for emergency maintenance, they will be wearing a respirator and gloves. We ask that you adhere to the social distancing guidelines and stay at least 6 feet away or that you are in another room while maintenance makes any repairs.

The leasing office will be open by appointment only. You can contact us by phone or e-mail and we will respond as quickly as possible but ask your patience as we will have limited staff in the office. Our phone number is (260) 747-7000 and our e-mail is apartments@willowcreekcrossing.net. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and we hope that everyone stays safe and healthy.

We will continue to update you as policies continue to change.

Important Message Regarding COVID-19

covid-19 update

covid-19 update

Amid the ever-changing COVID-19 outbreak we are doing our best to create new policies in order to keep both our residents and staff safe as we navigate this unfortunate circumstance. We are doing our best to stay as up to date as possible as new information about the virus becomes available. We are watching both local and national government updates and mandates and, as our policies change, we will do our best to keep you up to date. For your safety, and ours, we will be implementing the following guidelines and procedures during this time:

* We ask that you do not come into the leasing office, maintenance shop, or clubhouse, whether you are sick or not. If you have a question or concern you can call the office at
(260) 747-7000 during regular business hours or leave a message and we will return your phone call as soon as possible. You can also e-mail us at apartments@willowcreekcrossing.net.

* If you are sick and you have a maintenance request, we will not be entering your apartment, unless it is an emergency. Examples of an emergency are as follows: A water leak; no heat; a major appliance (stove, fridge, garbage disposal, washer, or dryer) not working; toilet not flushing or overflowing; no power to all or part of the apartment or other electrical issue; or a slow drain.

* We will still be performing regular work orders; however, we will be calling you before coming to your apartment to make sure that you are not experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms, have been exposed to anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms, or have recently traveled. Maintenance will be washing their hands in between every apartment and spraying their clothing with 91% alcohol to prevent carrying germs from one apartment to another. Semi-annual apartment inspections will be postponed until further notice.

*All Willow Creek Crossing employees have been instructed to stay home if they are exhibiting any cold or flu-like symptoms. They are not to return to work until they are symptom free or have been cleared by a doctor to return to work.

* The fitness center will be closed until further notice.

* If you live in an apartment style with a shared laundry, we ask that you take preventative measures and wipe the machines down with disinfectant cleaner before and after using them. We will keep up with our regular cleaning of the hallways but ask for your assistance as we cannot clean after each use. If you need to fill your laundry card, we ask that you use the hand sanitizer located to the left of the office door prior to using the machine or use the CSCPay Mobile app on your phone. If you are sick, we ask that you do not come to the office to use the machine but use the app instead.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time as we want to minimize your exposure, and ours, to the potential spread of germs. We will continue to monitor the current situation with the help of our local and national governing authorities. You can monitor online as well at www.in.gov and www.cdc.gov. And, please, do not forget to wash your hands!

How to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Fort Wayne

St. Patrick’s Day—a chance for fun, frolics, and a pint of Guinness. Over 70% of people aged 18 to 34 are ready to celebrate St Patrick’s day in the U.S. this year. It’s popular with older generations too, with nearly 60% of 35 to 54 year-olds joining in the fun.

There’s no better place in Indiana to celebrate this fine Irish holiday than Ft. Wayne. You just need to know where to go, and what to do!

Here are some of the best things to do on St. Patrick’s Day, whether you’re young or old.

Start Your Pub Crawl at JK O’Donnell’s

Start your celebrations in style by visiting JK O’Donnell’s Ale House for a two-day celebration of this Irish holiday. It’s family-friendly up until the early evening, with bagpipe performances, traditional food for sale, along with a selection of Irish-themed drinks.

The entertainment starts early and carries on until the early hours, so you’re welcome to pop in at any time. It’s a great starting point for a good, old-fashioned Irish pub crawl.

Visit the Get Green Fest as a Family

Not looking to sit in a pub or a restaurant? Why not go for an outdoor celebration instead by visiting the Fort Wayne Firefighters’ Get Green Fest, off Main Street? This is an event aimed for families. It’s an all-day event, with live entertainment, food, and fun activities for the entire family to get involved on. Money spent at the event goes to local charities in the area, so it’s for a good cause.

Take Part in the St. Patty’s Day Parade

Want to get in the spirit of St. Patty’s Day? Take part in the celebrations at the Deer Park Irish Pub and join one of the shortest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the U.S. The parade is now over 20 years old and takes part around this fine Irish pub, close to the local college campus. Thousands of people take part in costumes (green, of course), with plenty of beer on tap.

There’s alcohol, entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to let your hair down.

Go Full Irish at O’Sullivan’s

If you’re looking for a real party, head to West Main Street and get in line for O’Sullivan’s for the full Fort Wayne St. Patrick’s day experience. The Irish take over this Italian bar for the weekend. There’s plenty of beer on tap for you to choose from, as well as great food and live music through the weekend.

It’s definitely an experience you won’t forget, especially for the younger crowd. Don’t turn up too late, though—this place gets very busy, so you may have to wait in line to get in.

Celebrate in Style with These Fun Things to Do on St. Patrick’s Day

Fort Wayne has all the things to do on St. Patrick’s day that you’d ever need. Family activities, pub crawls, and one short (but very fun) parade makes up the St. Patrick’s Day events on offer in our local community.

No matter your age, there’s plenty of fun to be had in Fort Wayne throughout the year.
