Apartment Parking Permits

We have been noticing a lot of vehicles in the parking lots without the required parking permits displayed in the windows. If you don’t have one, please look in the red folder that you received when you moved in and get your permit. These tags are the only means of identification for our residents’ cars. Cars without the stickers are subject to tow.

If you do not have a sticker, please come to the leasing office and get one! (Refer to page 12 of your manual.)

Golf at Donald Ross

One of the benefits of living at Willow Creek Crossing Apartments Fort Wayne is having a membership at a golf course that is less than five minutes away from your home!

WCC offers residents FREE GOLF at Donald Ross Golf Club on South Calhoun Street. You will need to present your Willow Creek Crossing ID card, along with a golf pass each time you play. The passes expire monthly, so you will need to get a new one each month at the Leasing Office.

We do not limit the amount of play however, tee times and league play prevail, so call ahead.

Emergency Preparedness

As we enter storm season, we would like to remind our residents to make sure they are prepared with new batteries in flashlights, clocks and radios in the event of a power outage. Also, you should have a cooler handy to keep refrigerated items in the event of an extended power outage.

And…above all, buy renters insurance to cover personal belongings should you have a loss due to weather or fire.

Willow Creek Crossing Management takes pride in the appearance of the community. As we begin seasonal maintenance on the property, we would like to remind residents of their personal obligation regarding care and cleanliness in and around their apartments…
Patios and Balconies
It’s time to spruce up your patios and balconies. Only seasonal items that are meant for outdoor use, and are in a good state of repair should be kept on your patio or balcony. Items like garbage cans, gas cans, coolers, indoor furniture, refuse, or animal cages are not allowed–either by your lease agreement or by the City’s Neighborhood Code Enforcement.
Common Areas
Safety Measures: Common areas (entrances and stairwells) must always be clear of personal items that may block the passage of residents to and from their apartments. Flammable items may not be stored under the stairway. In addition, items may not block access to mailboxes or fire extinguishers. Absolutely nothing should be left on stair steps.
Sanitary Measures:
Residents may not keep, for any period of time, items of refuse, diapers, recyclables, tires, building materials or pet food outside their doors or anywhere in common areas.
Willow Creek Crossing Management will actively enforce these policies, not only for the health and safety of our residents, but for the appearance of the property.

It’s that time of year again… Garage Sale time!

Join us for the Willow Creek Crossing Residents’ Garage Sale! Shopping is open to the public but tables are available to residents only.

Saturday, April 28, 2012
8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Located inside the Clubhouse
Free Coffee and Donuts

Would you like to participate? We are taking table reservations now!

Here’s how it works:
Each participating resident has the use of one of the clubhouse tables, on a “first come, first served” basis. Residents need to provide their own clothing racks.
Residents will have Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to set up their display. No set ups on Saturday.
Residents must be present at all times and collect the money for their items. All participants are responsible for bringing and maintaining their own money and merchandise. (Willow Creek Crossing staff cannot watch your table or money.)
Willow Creek Crossing will advertise the garage sale in the newspaper, on Craigslist, and put up signs, at no cost to the resident. We will also provide coffee and donuts.
Teardown and removal of items is right after the sale.

Here’s a chance to clean out your clutter and make a little spending money. It’s also a chance to meet and mingle with your neighbors. We hope you’ll join in!

Expand your Living in an Apartment

A Captain's Bed is a great way to add storage

The old saying goes, “Bigger isn’t always better.” More and more people are choosing to live in smaller apartments, whether it’s finances, reducing your energy consumption or simply wanting to start fresh, downsizing into a smaller apartment home is a great way to give your new lifestyle a kickstart.

Some of the benefits include smaller heating and cooling bills, less clutter and less to take care of overall.

Of course, there are a few challenges to moving into a smaller home, particularly space. Pack rats or those with large furniture may have a harder time adjusting to the smaller space, but this can be overcome with creative methods of storage.

Making the Most of the Downsizing

There are several ways to maximize your space and your moving adventure when downsizing to a smaller apartment.

- Storage may obviously be the biggest hassle. Get creative with it. If you have any nooks or crannies in your new, smaller apartment, consider adding shelving or other storage units within the crannies. Captain’s beds also make great storage when you’re low on space.

- Put multiple light sources in every room — windows count — to create an illusion of a bigger space. More light will also open up the space visually.

- Clean, minimalist furniture will maximize your space and create a clean living area.

- Art is another thing to keep minimal. Having lots of wall decor can clutter the space and make your apartment seem even smaller. Keep it simple with one large print or piece of art. If you have collections consider grouping them together to form one large art piece or keeping them in different areas so the wall spaces are kept as clean as possible.

- Go through your possessions before you move so that you don’t have to deal with doing it in your smaller space. One way to do this is to ask yourself if you’ve used/worn/enjoyed a possession within the past year. If you haven’t, get rid of it!

Overall, many people thoroughly enjoy living in a smaller space for various reasons, although it can take some getting used to.

Visit our website at www.WillowCreekCrossingApartments.com starting Monday, April 2nd at 1pm to Thursday, April 5th at 1pm and look for our hidden Easter egg!

The Easter egg could be hidden anywhere, on any page including in a photo or video! Once you find the Easter egg, click on it and you’ll be taken to a form. Fill out the form for your chance to win our Easter basket filled with goodies!

A winner will be drawn from all entries on Thursday, April 5th and posted on our Facebook by 3pm.

One entry per person please. Online egg hunt is open to residents & non-residents. The winner will need to pick up the Easter basket at the leasing office, we can not ship the basket.

February is Resident Appreciation Month!

We love our residents and want to show our appreciation. Instead of Resident Appreciation Day, we’re making the whole month of February Resident Appreciation Month! The Willow Creek Crossing Apartments staff has planned a lot of fun events and tokens of appreciation for you this month!

During the month of February we are DOUBLING our referral fees! Receive $400 off your rent when you refer someone in February! (Don’t forget that we will give you an extra $50 if you bring them in on their first visit!)

Come into the office to sign up for our Valentine’s Day Basket giveaway! We’ve filled the basket with chocolates, a teddy bear and a $20 gift certificate to Broadview Florist and Greenhouse. One entry per person please. The drawing will happen at the end of our Pizza Party on February 7th. Must be present to win

February 1, 2, & 3 – Help yourself to donuts, treats and coffee in our office during regular business hours while you pay your rent!
