Approved Grills For Apartments in Fort Wayne

Are Grills Allowed at Apartments in Fort Wayne?

Here’s a question we get a lot at this time of year: “Why won’t Willow Creek Crossing Apartments let me use a charcoal grill on my patio?”

Simple, it’s the law:

The Indiana Fire Code Section 307.5 says:

“Charcoal burners and other open-flame cooking devices shall not be operated on combustible balconies or within 10 feet (3048 mm) of combustible construction.”

You can get a flameless electric grill that looks very much like a conventional grill, and cook out on your patio all summer long.

A couple options of flameless electric grills include the Easy Street 1,500-Watt Electric Grill
