Oh, the weather outside is frightful! But that doesn’t mean there aren’t loads of fun things to enjoy around Fort Wayne in January. Start the New Year off right and take advantage of the great offerings our fair city has to offer. Don’t let the cold stop you. Whether your thing is arts or sports or food, there’s load to see and do all over town — even in the dead of winter!

Art:

Bring the kids to the “Mary Poppins Garden Parties” at the Botanical Conservatory and explore the new Mary Poppins-themed garden exhibit. January through April.

Spending an afternoon at the Castle Gallery in the historic West Central neighborhood is a great way to get out of the cold. The Gallery’s Holiday Show continues into January. Visit their website for hours and upcoming exhibits.

Music or comedy:

Writer and comedian, Guy Branham, at The Tiger Room at Calhoun Street Soups, Salads, & Spirits on January 13th.

Saturdays, head down to the Lincoln Financial Event Center at Parkview Field from 9-1 to purchase fresh veggies and other local goods. Buy local at the Fort Wayne Farmer’s Market.

Festivals:

Who says festivals are only for Summer? Bundle up and head downtown Saturday, January 28th for Winterval 2017. Enjoy ice carvers, catch a rugby game, warm up by a bonfire while listening to live music, and more!
