What to Do in Fort Wayne in April
It’s April and as usual, the Fort Wayne area has some great events going on this month. Here’s hoping for some warm early Spring weather so you can get out and explore!
Get a Breath of Fresh Air
Bike, run or walk The Fort Wayne Trails system, map here or pack a picnic and plan a hike at hike at Fox Island. Your pet will enjoy the exercise and fresh air too. Then, let him/her cool off at the dog beach!
Easter Bone Hunt
More fun for you pooch includes the annual Easter Bone Hunt at Franke Park. With a $15 donation to the Fort Wayne Animal Care and Controle, your pooch (and you) will have access to dog-friendly games, crafts, the bone hunt, and more!
Beautiful Butterflies
The Botanical Conservatory’s “Beautiful Butterflies” opens April 23rd.
From their website “Our live butterfly enclosure will be home to over one hundred specimens from Asia, South and Central America, and Africa this spring and early summer. At this special learning station, you can learn how butterfly wings get their colors, discover how butterflies see, smell, taste, and breathe, and use pasta to make a chart of the butterfly life cycle.”
Take Me Out to the Ballpark
The TinCaps Opening Day is April 9th! Purchase your tickets today to watch the Tincaps take on the Lake County Captains. Then, stay for everyone’s favorite, post-game fireworks!

Solfest, Fort Wayne’s celebration of the sun and the environment, returns to Fox Island April 30 and May 1st. Enjoy live music, hikes, children’s activities, local vendors, water activities, and more!
