What’s Going On Around Fort Wayne

Fall is here but it still offers up a lot of beautiful days to get out and enjoy the outdoors! Hike, run or ride Fort Wayne trails, explore the three rivers with a kayak or canoe rental from Fort Wayne Outfitters, or host a party on a bike from Pedal City! There is plenty to do in and around Fort Wayne for the residents of Willow Creek Crossing Apartments.

Science Central

A great place to explore with or without the kids. Science Central is hosting several events in October:

Sci-Fi Central on October 3rd will offer up cosplay, gaming, vendors and all sorts of other fun stuff for the sci-fi fan!

On Friday, October 9th from 7-10pm those over 21 can enjoy Soulless Science: The Quest for Patient Zero. Prepare for the impending Zombie Apocalypse with a night of fun in pandemic proportions. Explore the museum while indulging in cocktails and “cannibalism” (not really, but you get it). Examine patients and get hands-on with evidence not for the faint of heart.Tickets available online: $20 for an individual and $35 for a couple. Tickets sold at the door: $25 for an individual and $40 for a couple. Complimentary beverage ticket provided with online preregistration by 10:00 am October 5.

Cinema Center

The Embassy Theatre

The Embassy Theatre is host to great events all year long, and October is no exception. Some of the events going on this month include (descriptions from its website):

  • Oct. 11 The Illusionists “This mind blowing spectacular showcases the jaw dropping talents of the most incredible Illusionists on earth.
  • Oct. 15 Black Violin “an American hip-hop duo composted of two classically-trained string instrumentalists”
  • Oct. 23rd The Mersey Beatles “Liverpool’s Favorite Beatles Tribute Band”

Fall Leaf Viewing

The leaves are starting to change and soon they’ll be bursting with color. Take a drive to check out the Autumn scenery not far from Willow Creek Crossing Apartments. Or take a drive to some great spots around Indiana or Michigan including the famous Tunnel of Trees.

Fairs and Festivals

September 28 – October 3rd is the Dekalb County Free Fall Fair which may possibly be your last chance for fair food and carnival rides.

On October 3rd, head over to Headwaters Park for Chilifest. Chilifest will feature a chili cook-off along with live music. Worried you’ll miss the Purdue vs Michigan State game? Not to fear, TV’s will be set up so you can enjoy the game! Proceeds benefit the American Red Cross of NE Indiana. Cost is only $5 at the door for unlimited chili tasting.

October 3rd and 4th is Kendallville Apple Festival at the Noble County Fairgrounds. Enjoy food, music, crafts, games, and more.

Love art? Then head over to the Renaissance in Roanoke Art Fair October 10th. In addition to an art fair, there will also be a farmers market, live entertainment, food, and more.
