Halloween Apartment Decorating Ideas

Halloween is upon us, here in Fort Wayne! That means it’s time to break out the decorations! Living in an apartment means you may not have the space to decorate with bales of hay and piles of oversized pumpkins or a complete fabricated graveyard outside your front door… but that doesn’t mean you can’t join in the scary fun! There are lots of ways to decorate on a smaller scale and add a little fear factor to your apartment space.

Outdoor Decorating Ideas

Don’t have room for the mess of carving a big Jack-o-Lantern? Pick up a few foam pumpkins. You can reuse them year after year, inside or out. There are lots of shades of orange available at craft stores or online. And here’s a cute one in black!

A Halloween-themed wreath on the front door is a fun touch. How about a “festive” one made from creepy rubber snakes?!

For the less crafty, there are lots of Halloween door covers that easily tape on and cost just a few bucks. Nothing says “trick or treat!” like some zombies busting out of your front door!

Indoor Decorating Ideas

If you’re planning to just hang out with friends or host a theme party add some spookiness by hanging some cobwebs in the corners of your living room. Or greet your guests with a colony of bats hanging from the ceiling in your entryway.

Change up the lighting in your apartment by putting colored bulbs in your light fixtures or lamps. Stringing up orange, purple or red colored mini-lights is a quick and easy way to change a room’s ambiance
