What to Do in Fort Wayne in April
Spring, is that really you? Always such a tease! But, maybe, just maybe, Spring really is knocking on our door and we can think about enjoying some time outside once again! Below are some fun and entertaining things to get you and the family outside during the month of April. (Though, she’s fooled us before, so we’ve also put in some suggestions for indoor fun, too — just in case!).
OUTSIDE
Tin Caps Opening Day
April 8th, 6:05pm
Head out to the ballpark for the Tincaps opening day game vs Bowling Green.
Easter Bone Hunt
April 9th
Pack up your pooch and head out to the 9th annual Easter Bone Hunt on Sunday, April 9th at Franke Park to enjoy a fun with your dog. There will dog-friendly games, crafts & even tattoos. Prize baskets will be given away to the lucky pups who find prize eggs! All dogs admitted for a $15 donation & proceeds will go toward FWACC’s Adoption & Volunteer programs. Bring some extra dough and get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny!
The Buzz about Bees
April 18th, 9:30-11 am
“If you have a busy little bee at home, bring them down to the Salomon Farms for The Buzz about Bees Spring Programs for Kids (and their grownups!) to learn what all of the buzz is about! Instructor Glenn Hile, local beekeeper, and owner of Glenn’s Natural Honey will teach little ones about the importance of bees using fun hands-on activities. Ages 3- 5.”
Stargazing at Riverfront Fort Wayne
April 19th
The third Wednesday of every month, head out to the Historic Wells Street Bridge for a night walk along the Fort Wayne Riverbanks. On this walk, you’ll also have a chance to see some rare star formations and learn about what’s going on in the universe from some friends from Science Central. This is a great, FREE opportunity for some fun for the whole family!

Join the Fort Wayne Phil at the Memorial Coliseum on April 7 for Harry Potter in Concert.Watch the film on a giant screen as the Fort Wayne Philharmonic performs every note of John Williams’ score from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Saturday Mornings
Shop locally grown fruit, veggies, and crafts at the Fort Wayne Farmers Market which is still indoors this month at Parkview Field every Saturday morning until May 13. Early Spring veggies and the usual plethora of other treats will be available!

April 19-23rd
It’ back! Vera Bradley Annual Outlet Sale April 19-23. Spanning five days, this is a not-to-be-missed event for Vera Bradley fans. “Products available at the sale are primarily retired and overstock items (shop early for best selection). The first three days offer multiple ticketed sessions to shop where shoppers take advantage of great product selection (get your tickets early as sessions do sell out). The last two days are open to the public with no ticket required to enter.”
